Our edible fish, broodstock and eggs are GLOBALG.A.P certified (Global good agriculture practices) according to a standard specifically for aquaculture.
We can thus document full traceability for the production we deliver, compliance with laws and regulations for food safety, health, environment and safety for all our employees, and for animal welfare and consideration for the external environment and ecosystem.
The company and all our employees work continuously to strive for improvement and sustainable production. Our quality certificates are renewed annually through audits conducted by accredited certification bodies.
Our sustainability report demonstrates our commitment to a more responsible and sustainable future.
It serves as a key tool for mapping, evaluating and communicating our actions and results related to ESG (environmental, social and economic) challenges. Through this report, we want to give you insight into our initiatives and progress towards a more sustainable business.
Our commitment to sustainability is the foundation of our operations, as described in our HSE, Sustainability, Animal Welfare and Ethics Policy. We believe in openness and accountability, and our sustainability report is proof of our commitment to being transparent about our impacts, challenges and successes. It gives us the opportunity to evaluate our actions, identify areas for improvement and share our ambitious goals with our stakeholders.
Bolaks Group reports in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard. The GRI standard is an internationally recognized guideline for sustainability reporting. By following the GRI standard, we ensure consistency, reliability and comparability in our reporting. It also makes us well prepared for reporting according to the EU's EU CSRD in 2026 for reporting year 2025.
This sustainability report is an expression of our commitment to being a driver of positive change. We hope it gives you an insight into our journey towards becoming a more sustainable organization.
Project work
Bolaks is actively working on various sustainability and circularity projects. The project "Can land-based aquaculture be the starting point for a regional industrial symbiosis?" funded by Vestland County Council and led by NCE / Land Meets Sea, investigated opportunities to establish a local industrial symbiosis where waste streams were included in a circular value chain.
Successfully transitioning from linear to circular value chains will be crucial to achieving the climate goals set for a future low-emission society. Industrial symbioses have been identified as an important tool to achieve this and collectively create more sustainable production processes. Bolaks wants to actively contribute to the development of the future circular bioeconomy.
